Borgman controls everything and is like an extension of van Warmerdam who is in complete control of every moment of this film without a single frame being wasted. Defies proper explanation, but it's not just the performances but visually haunting and incredibly memorable unique moments of things I had never even imagined of seeing.

Borgman (2013) is one interesting movie the requires a deep dive, despite the fact that its charm lies in it’s cynical and cryptic plotlines. However, the biggest issue with Borgman is that it’s too confusing for the casual viewer – almost like it’s too smart for its own good. Borgman starts off interesting enough as a strange hobo is kept sheltered in a rich families guest house after the wife feels bad when her husband beats him up. Only for him and his friends to start forcing themselves into the families life and using some mysterious power to mind control the family. With a grant from Cinéfondation, Borgman spend five months in Paris writing his début feature film project, The Weight of Elephants (2013). An adaption of Australian author Sonya Hartnett 's book Of a Boy , the film is a coming of age drama about 14-year-old Jess, a local paper boy, whose life is flipped upside down when a horrific murder happens in the street where he delivers newspapers.
